Our International Elite guest, Krishna Poonia, exceeded the Olympic A Standard of 200’ with a 7’ Personal Record of 208’, 63.41m in the discus at a competition May 8. Krishna and her husband have been training with us since the first of February. They will return home for the month of June, spend July training with us in Portland and then travel to Beijing to compete in the Olympics for India.

The Throw Center is moving rapidly to completion. Check this blog for the latest photos. Crushed brick, sand, wood chips and other materials are being put in place. We still hope to have grass to throw onto by early July.

We are hosting the Mac Wilkins Throws Camp July 18-21 at the Throw Center. Unfortunately, it will be a day camp as there are no dorms available in the area for overnight campers. We do have a discount at a local motel. Check “Events” at www.macwilkins.com for more details.

Masters Day at the Throw Center Monday August 4. Stop by on your way to Nationals in Spokane and take a few throws at the new Throw Center, attend an informal clinic with Mac or Concordia Hammer Coach, Mike Milakovic and Javelin Coach Scott Halley. Check “Events” at www.macwilkins.com for more details.
